About
An art centre since the 1950s
The Art Centre of New Jersey is a community of artists who draw, paint and learn from each other. We’ve held annual exhibitions since the early 1950s, and drawing from the live model has been at the heart of what we do for just as long.
Every week we run drop-in figure drawing sessions, open to every skill level, members and non-members alike. Our members show together, share what they know, and keep each other working.
We started in East Orange and have moved a few times since. Since the mid-1990s our home has been Riker Hill Art Park in Livingston, a county park of artists’ studios on the site of a former Cold War missile base.

Weekly sessions on the hill, all skill levels welcome. No sign-up needed, just come by. Easels and tables are provided; bring your own materials. Each session is $15 for members, $17 for non-members.
